the adoption process

Deciding to adopt a dog is like adding another member to your family! We take this process very seriously and make every effort to create the best possible match between prospective adopters and our available pups.

The first step in the adoption process is completing a comprehensive adoption application. When your application is received, our team will review it and get back to you with any questions or concerns we might have.

Once all references have been checked to our satisfaction, applicants are asked to participate in a virtual home visit, which gives our team the opportunity to see where you live and how a pup would spend his or her days. If, after completing the virtual home visit, our team feels confident that you and your family would provide a loving and safe home for one of our pups, we will approve you as an adopter.

When you are approved to adopt, you will have the opportunity to virtually meet (via WhatsApp) our pups being cared for by our wonderful Aruban fosters. When you are matched with a specific dog, we will then start the process of finding a flight volunteer who can help transport your new family member from Aruba to the U.S. When your dog arrives at the airport, you will scoop up your new friend and bring him or her home!

Please note that our adoption fee is $450, which helps us cover all costs associated with the dog prior to adoption (e.g., vet bills, airline fees, etc.). You must be at least 25 years old to be eligible to adopt.
